Estudio Tisocco & Associates was founded in 1950 by Dr. Héctor Tisocco, who graduated from Buenos Aires University as a Certified Public Accountant in the same year.
In those days Dr. Tisocco was related to a very important business group made up of some of the most important insurance companies and banks in the country. La Agrícola Insurance Company, La Mercantil Andina Insurance Company, El Acuerdo Insurance Company, Banco Argentino de Comercio, Banco del Oeste and Banco Transatlántico del Uruguay, were only some of the important companies that comprised the group, also with a strong presence in the national agribusiness sector. Companies such as Estancia Santo Tomás de la Sierra, Estancia and Cabaña Maquinchao, Estancia San Juan, Estancia Los Algarrobos, Estancia Santa Amalia, among others, turned this group into one of the most important producers in the agribusiness at the time.
For many years Dr. Tisocco managed the tax department of this business group, and he was also a man of trust and member of several boards of directors in these companies.
During those years the firm gained vast experience in Mergers and Acquisitions, business reorganizations, as well as a fluent management of national and foreign corporations. In this respect, the firm took part in the coordination of accounting, tax and company issues in the transfer of Banco Argentino de Comercio to Chasse Manhattan Bank, and it also had to audit overseas companies which participated in the share capital of the former.
Important companies such as Barreto Hnos. S.A., with more than 20.000 hectares of land in the provinces of Buenos Aires and Córdoba, or the group Duggan Hnos. with more than 30.000 hectares in Buenos Aires province, were some of the most important clients in the agribusiness sector related to the firm.
Furthermore, during the fifties a strong connection with the fruit sector started to develop with the incorporation of a very important business group made up of Pindapoy and a conglomerate of related corporations which were consolidated as the main citrus fruit producer and exporter in the country. In 1955 we reorganized this group of companies giving rise to Pindapoy S.A. which became the first juice and concentrate factory in Argentina.
We also started to operate in the service and industrial sectors. In the former one, it is worth mentioning the incorporation of Cía. Telefónica Interprovincial S.A., a telephone service supplier in the northwest of Argentina for many years, until the State ordered its nationalization. Dr. Héctor Tisocco was a member of the company board of directors as trustee, and the firm was in charge of tax consulting and auditing tasks. There was active participation in the complex process of the company liquidations and its transfer to the National State.
